Kane Ore Brings $489,780 At Goffs Arc Sale

Multiple stakes winner Kane Ore brought the top price of 500,000 euros (approximately $489,780) during the Goffs Arc sale on Saturday at Longchamp in France. California-based agent Shawn Dugan purchased the 3-year-old daughter of Green Desert -- Aethra for Anne Houlihan Brown. Kane Ore captured the 2002 Prix de la Cochere and the 2001 Criterium du Bequet.
Goffs reported that 34 horses were sold for a gross of 3,071,600 euros ($3,008,816) and an average of 90,324 euros ($88,478). All the numbers were up from a year ago, when the 31 horses sold grossed 2,315,000 euros and averaged 74,600 euros. The buy-back rate fell from 43.6% last year to 39.3% this year.
