John and Brad Hennegan, who teamed for the Eclipse Award-winning documentary "The First Saturday in May," have produced a special on the 30 greatest moments in Breeders' Cup history that will air Oct. 19 on the NBC Sports Network. The program is scheduled to be shown at 5:30 p.m. ET.
The Hennegan brothers won an Eclipse Award in 2008 for "The First Saturday May," which which chronicled the stories of six horses and their connections on the journey to the 2006 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I).
In addition to the special on NBS Sports Network, a series of videos produced by the Hennegan brothers showing some of the races, stories, and memorable moments during the first 29 runnings of the World Championships will be posted at http://www.breederscup.com/greatest-moments. The first one depicts TV and radio sports personality Jim Rome's greatest Breeders' Cup moment.
Rome is part owner of Mizdirection, winner of the 2012 Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (gr. IT) at Santa Anita Park in near-record time.
