Hartley/de Renzo Thoroughbreds near Ocala, Fla., announced the addition of Rattlesnake Bridge, Doctor Chit, and Archwarrior, to their stallion roster for 2014. All three horses were sold as 2-year-olds in training for $450,000, $375,000, and $375,000 respectively.
Rattlesnake Bridge, a 5-year-old son of Tapit —Prall Street, by Cherokee Run, won the 2011 Long Branch Stakes at Monmouth Park and also placed in the Travers (gr. I), Pennsylvania Derby (gr. II), and Westchester Stakes (gr. III). Bred in Kentucky by Bill Graves and Dennis Lynch, he earned $518,000 for Mill House and trainer Kiaran McLaughlin.
Also raced by Mill House, 4-year-old Doctor Chit (War Front —True Gritz, by Yes It's True) won the 2012 Western Larla Stakes at Belmont Park and placed second in last year's Amsterdam (gr. II). Bred in Kentucky by Ponchartrain Stud, Doctor Chit is from the immediate family of grade I-winning sire Mr. Greeley and champion juvenile and Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner Street Sense .
Weighted at 108 on the Experimental Free Handicap, Archwarrior (Arch —Winner's Edge, by Seeking the Gold) was one of the biggest buzz juveniles of 2012 and carries the same dam/broodmare sire cross as Blame . The 3-year-old, who finished fourth in the Champagne (gr. I) was raced by Alto Racing for Todd Pletcher. He was bred in Kentucky by Highfield Farm.
The trio joins Hartley/de Renzo stallions City Place, The Green Monkey, and With Distinction for 2014.
