Starlight Stable's Harlan's Holiday drew the outside post position among seven 3-year-olds entered for Friday night's $350,000 Pegasus Handicap (gr. II) at 1 1/8 mile at the Meadowlands Racetrack.

A winner of nearly $1.8 million, Harlan's Holiday enters the 22nd renewal of the Pegasus off a win in the Pennsylvania Derby (gr. III).

"The main thing we're trying to do is take the next step forward toward the Breeders' Cup Classic (Oct. 26 at Arlington Park)," said Todd Pletcher, who conditions the colt by Harlan. "We want to build on our last race and take a step forward this time. More importantly, we want to take another step forward on Oct. 26."

At 3-5 on the morning line, Harlan's Holiday will be looking to be the first favorite since Diazo in 1993 to win the Pegasus.
