For the sixth straight year, the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships will offer Breeders' Cup Ultra Pick 6 wagering. This year's Ultra Pick 6 will have a guaranteed minimum wagering pool of $3 million. All wagers must be in $2 denominations.
The Ultra Pick 6 will be offered on races 5-10 of the Breeders' Cup Day card at Arlington Park on Oct. 26: the NetJets Breeders' Cup Mile, the NAPA Breeders' Cup Sprint, the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf, the Bessemer Trust Breeders' Cup Juvenile, the John Deere Breeders' Cup Turf, and the Breeders' Cup Classic.
In 2001, the guarantee was also $3 million and over $4.8 million was wagered. A payoff of $262,442 went to each of 11 winners.
In 1999, the Breeders' Cup Ultra Pick 6 set a North American record by paying out $3,058,138 to the only winning ticket holder.
