Dixieland Band Season Brings $33,000 In Equine Spectrum Auction

Equine Spectrum sold 13 stallion seasons for a gross of $146,300 and an average price of $11,253 during an online auction Tuesday. All the seasons were for 2003. The top price was the $33,000 brought by a no-guarantee season to Dixieland Band, which was purchased by Thoroughbreds International. The same buyer also purchased no-guarantee seasons to Devil's Bag for $6,600 and $6,500.

Sixteen of the 29 seasons offered were bought back or received no bids. The highest buy-back price was $199,000 for a no-guarantee season to Seeking the Gold. No-guarantee seasons to Danzig were bought back for $184,000, and $100,000.
