Fasig-Tipton has cataloged 522 entries for its Kentucky winter mixed sale that will be expanded to two days and conducted Feb. 9-10 at its Lexington headquarters.
As a result of the high volume of entries, the sale will be held over two sessions Sunday, Feb. 9 and Monday Feb. 10, instead of the initially scheduled single Monday session. The Sunday session, which will offer hips 1-176, will begin at 3 p.m. The Monday session, which will offer hips 177-522, will begin at 10 a.m.
"The success of the 2013 sale has generated a tremendous response for 2014 from our consignors," said Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning. "Our entries are up 32% and this year's catalog is one of our strongest ever. There are a number of graded stakes-winning fillies and graded stakes producers on offer, as well as a large group of newly turned yearlings that will draw active interest. The Sunday afternoon start will provide buyers and sellers ample time to conduct their business without extending their schedules for the sale."
The Kentucky winter mixed sale catalog will be available on Fasig-Tipton's website by Jan. 17 and print catalogs will be mailed by Jan. 20. The sale also will be available via the equineline sales catalog app.
