Indian Lodge to Miss Shuttle Season
Indian Lodge left Ellinthorpe Stud under-manned when he missed last month's shuttle. Grand Lodge's exciting miler wasn't running late but a slightly elevated temperature caused veterinary surgeons to revoke his ticket out of Ireland.Once the 6-year-old missed his flight, no other could be arranged within the required timeframe. The dual group I winner of the Prix Moulin and Prix de la Foret started his stud career at the Rathbarry Stud of Liam Cashman last year.Ellinthorpe owner John O'Mara has a three-year contract with Rathbarry for Indian Lodge to make his southern debut next year. No group I winning sons of Grand Lodge are currently working in the southern hemisphere.O'Mara purchased Ellinthorpe earlier this year and the Sydney businessman's debut season as owner rests with Eternity Range, the Majestic Light son in his third Australian season. A listed winner on Santa Anita's turf course, Eternity Range had split Ashkalani and Spinning World in the Prix Fountainbleau (Fr-III) at three and also placed in the Gran Criterium (Fr-I) at two.Soon after selling Ellinthorpe, Thompson lost Nine Carat on June 1, the Slew o'Gold stallion's deteriorating health stemming from to a pituritary problem. Nine Carat joined the Ellinthorpe roster in 1995.
