Allard, Tee Time Buys Top Keeneland Sale Friday

A colt by Elusive Quality and a filly by Wolf Power each brought $95,000, highest price of Friday's session of Keeneland's September Yearling Sale.

Cam Allard bought He's Great, a bay colt by Elusive Quality out of stakes winner Nasty But Worth It, by Nasty and Bold. Forbush Farm, as agent, sold the yearling.

Elusive Quality's first foals are 2-year-olds this year.

Tee Time Farm purchased a gray filly by Wolf Power out of Cornish Image, by Cornish Prince. James M. Herbener Jr., as agent, sold the yearling, who is a half sister to stakes-placed Capel.

Keeneland sold 229 horses Friday for $2,449,900, an average of $10,698 and a median of $6,200. During the corresponding session last year, 209 horses brought $2,324,500, an average of $11,122 and a median of $6,500.

With one day remaining in the 12-day auction, 2,780 horses have been sold for $209,540,600, an average of $75,374 and a median of $35,000. At this point in the sale a year ago, 2,581 horses had been sold for $251,940,200, an average of $97,613 and a median of $34,000.

The sale ends Saturday.
