The first reported foal for grade II winner Atta Boy Roy , a bay colt, was born Feb. 8 at Griffin Place near Buckley, Wash.
The colt is out of the stakes-winning Silver Ghost mare Silver Screen Girl and is the property of Mr. Ken Alhadeff and Griffin Place. He is a half brother to four winners, including stakes-placed runner Silver Lake Max (by Salt Lake).
Atta Boy Roy, a 9-year-old son of Tribunal—Irish Toast, by Synastry, excelled primarily at one-turn races. He won or placed in nine stakes during six seasons of racing, including a victory in the 2010 Churchill Downs Stakes (gr. II). Bred in Washington by Patricia Murphy and Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Pabst, he retired from racing with earnings of more than $600,000.
