Barbaro's Brother Lentenor Sires First Foal

Lentenor's first foal, out of Smok'em Over.

Lentenor  , a stakes-winning full brother to Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner Barbaro, sired his first foal when a colt was born Feb. 20 at Calumet Farms near Lexington.

The newborn colt is out of the Smoke Glacken mare Smok'em Over, who is a half sister to grade III winner and grade I producer Antoinette.

Lentenor, a 7-year-old son of Dynaformer, raced as a homebred for Roy and Gretchen Jackson's Lael Stables. Lentenor broke his maiden at Gulfstream Park in his third start and finished fourth in the 2010 Florida Derby (gr. I), in his initial outing on dirt. 

The bay horse set a course record of 1:40.95 for 1 1/16 miles at Tampa Bay Downs in December 2011. In 2012, He won the Kitten's Joy Stakes on grass at Colonial Downs and finished fourth in the Cliff Hanger Stakes (gr. IIIT) in his final start at Monmouth Park. Lentenor finished his racing career with a record of 4-3-3 from 17 starts, for earnings of $184,406.
Bred in Kentucky, Lentenor is out of the grade II stakes-placed Carson City mare La Ville Rouge. Lentenor is also a full brother to stakes-placed runner Nicanor, stakes winner Margano, and a half brother to stakes winner Holy Ground.

Lentenor stands for $2,000 at Indiana Stallion Station near Anderson, Ind.
