Autotote Systems, a subsidiary of Scientific Games, has extended its totalizator operations and services contract with the New York Racing Association through the fall of 2004.
The contract was one of three extensions worth a total of $15 million that the company just completed. Nassau Regional Off-Track Betting Corp. and Suffolk Regional Off-Track Betting Corp., two of New Yorkês regional OTB franchises, signed renewal agreements for the provision of totalizator systems and services through 2009.
The contracts include Autotote Systems' new Natural Language Voice Recognition Systems for phone wagering, the company's Eclipse central systems, software for back office wagering data archives and reporting systems, and additional freestanding STAN brand self-service wagering terminals.
"It is especially rewarding when, as in this case, our customers upgrade and add new equipment to their wagering networks, increasing convenience and fun for horseracing fans, who may in turn wager more," said Lorne Weil, chairman and chief executive officer of Scientific Games. "These orders, as well as the continued growth we are seeing in our account wagering operations, are also an indicator of the overall health of the pari-mutuel industry."
