Pearly Shells ran down Ana Marie in the final 100 yards to post a 1 1/2-length victory in Sunday's Group I Prix Vermeille for 3-year-old fillies at Longchamp, earning her fifth win of the season.
Owned by 6C Racing Ltd., the daughter of Efisio ran the 1 1/2-mile event in a course-record 2:26 on a good to firm course.
Christophe Soumillon rode Pearly Shells, being mentioned as a potential Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe supplemental entry. Trainer Francois Rohaut said he has not ruled out the Oct. 6 classic.
Bright Sky, winner of the French Oaks, finished third, two lengths behind Ana Marie.
