Golden Gate Handicap (gr. IIIT) winner Deploy Venture seeks to rebound from a sixth-place finish in the Sword Dancer Invitational Handicap (gr. IT) when he takes on 118-pound highweight River Keen and four others in the $200,000 Bay Meadows Handicap (gr. IIIT) Saturday at Bay Meadows.

Deploy Venture was soundly beaten in the Sword Dancer, finishing 19 1/2 lengths behind John's Call. The Darrell Vienna trainee, however, may not have appreciated the soft turf at Saratoga that day. The 4-year-old son of Deploy will be ridden by Russell Baze.

Eight-year-old River Keen hasn't raced on turf since March of 1997, when he finished eighth in his final race in England. After winning the Californian Stakes (gr. II) on dirt in his North American debut, the chestnut son of Keen has been kept on the main track.

The field for the 1 1/8-mile Bay Meadows Handicap, with jockeys and weights, will consist of:

1 -- Casino King, Corey Black, 116
2 -- River Keen, Dennis Carr, 118
3 -- Prize Giving, Rafael Meza, 112
4 -- Deploy Venture, Russell Baze, 117
5 -- Devine Wind, Garrett Gomez, 112
6 -- Irish Prize, Frank Alvarado, 115
