E Dubai, a top international star for Godolphin, will enter stud at Sheikh Mohammed's Jonabell Farm in Lexington in 2003. The announcement came shortly after Godolphin retired multi-millionaire Street Cry for stallion duty at Jonabell. Sheikh Mohammed bought Jonabell from the Bell family in 2001.
"I cannot think of another horse who could be considered a legitimate threat for the Breeder's Cup Sprint, Breeder's Cup Mile, and the Breeder's Cup Classic (all grade I)", said Jimmy Bell. "E Dubai has brilliant speed as seen in his wire-to-wire, stakes record procession in the Dwyer.
"He can carry that speed a mile and a quarter against graded stakes winners as was seen in the Suburban (gr. I) win earlier this year, and last year where he put up a brave fight with the Horse of the Year, Point Given, in the grade I Travers Stakes.
"He is a beautifully-balanced, brilliantly-fast and extremely versatile athlete and has all the gears plus a great pedigree."
E Dubai's next target is the Sept. 28 Jockey Club Gold Cup (gr. I) at Belmont Park. E Dubai (Mr. Prospector--Words of War, by Lord At War) has won five of 10 starts and earned $920,800.
