Runspastum Gets Victory in Delaware Owners 'Cap

Jayeff "B" Stable's Runspastum won the $100,000 Delaware Thoroughbred Horsemen Association Owners Day Handicap at Delaware Park Saturday.

Ridden by Mike McCarthy, the 5-year-old son of Woodman won by two lengths and returned $5.80 as the favorite in the field of seven. American Prince, with Eddie Martin Jr. astride, finished second and it was another length back to Confucius Say, with Larry Reynolds aboard, in third.

Runspastum covered the 1 1/8 mile on a fast track in 1:51.20.

The Kentucky-bred trained by Alan Goldberg raised his career record to six wins from 28 starts with earnings of $472,000.

High Lady Takes Rosenberger

Char-Mari Stable's High Lady won the $100,000 George Rosenberger Memorial at Delaware Park Saturday.

Ridden by Mike McCarthy, the 6-year-old daughter of Lord Avie won by a length and returned $12.20 as the third choice in the field of 11. Bloomy, with Chris DeCarlo astride, finished second and it was a head back to Starry De, with Oliver Castillo aboard, in third.

High Lady covered the 1 1/16 mile on a firm course in 1:42.50.

The Kentucky-bred trained by Alan Goldberg raised his career record to six wins from 33 starts with earnings of $240,000.
