Keeneland Sells Six Horses Via Internet
Six horses that had gone unsold when they went through the ring at Keeneland's 13-day September yearling sale were sold Wednesday night during the sales company's Internet RNA Auction."We had a lot more activity...a lot more bidding," said Internet sales coordinator Stephen Koch of the second RNA auction when compared to the first one.With a total of 94 RNA yearlings listed for the second auction, the six horses that sold grossed $365,700. Top price of $187,000 was paid by Three Chimneys Farm for a Storm Cat--Refinancing colt from the consignment of Paternostro and Herbener. The colt was bought back for $175,000 when offered during the live sale.Only horses that failed to attain their reserve price were eligible for the RNA sale. The third RNA sale will take place Monday, with bidding starting at 8:00 a.m. (EDT) and concluding a five-minute intervals that begin at 4:00 p.m. Horses in the auction will be listed on the Internet Sunday. Prospective buyers are required to register 48 hours in advance of bidding.
