Record-priced Filly Wins at Del Mar

Atlantic Ocean, whose price of $1.9 million at the Barretts March sale set a world record for a 2-year-old filly, won Aug. 29 at Del Mar. Making her third start, the daughter of Stormy Atlantic scored by three lengths at a mile. Bred by Arthur I. Appleton, Atlantic Ocean was bought, and races for, The Thoroughbred Corp. Stormy Atlantic stands at Appleton's Bridlewood Farm near Ocala, Fla.
