The familiar all blue colors of Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin Racing could show up again soon at the seashore, trainer Eoin Harty said the morning of Aug. 29.
Harty's string of Godolphin 2-year-olds was hit by a virus earlier in the meet, putting them on the shelf possibly for the season. But Harty said the barn is recovering and he might be able to run a couple of the 2-year-olds before the meet ends on Sept. 11.
For the past two years, Harty's Godolphin string has been a major presence in freshman races at Del Mar, and his top colt, Inamorato, was expected to be a force in the Best Pal Stakes (gr. III), as well as the Del Mar Futurity (gr. II) Sickness forced this year's crop to the sidelines.
