'Greatest Game' Plans Informational Session at Keeneland

The Greatest Game, the Thoroughbred industry's new-owner initiative, will hold an informational session on the progress of the program Sept. 13 at the Keeneland sale pavilion. It is open to the public.The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. EDT. The Keeneland September yearling sale gets under way that week, but Sept. 13 is a dark day.Organizers will provide general information on the The Greatest Game, as well as discuss a consultant program by which representatives of the industry would be put in contact with potential Thoroughbred owners. Applications to become a consultant will be available at the Sept. 13 meeting.The goal of The Greatest Game, which has been retooled recently, is to make Thoroughbred ownership a reality for prospective owners, as well as afford each prospective owner an optimum chance for success as they enter the world of Thoroughbred racing. The Greatest Game (www.thegreatestgame.com) is a project of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association, Keeneland Association, National Thoroughbred Racing Association, and The Blood-Horse.
