Grade I stakes-placed Tribunal, a $1.8 million yearling purchase, has been sold by Robert and Beverly Lewis to a group of investors from the Pacific Northwest who are in the process of syndicating the 5-year-old son of Deputy Minister. Tribunal, whose sale was negotiated by Reynolds Bell Thoroughbred Services, will stand at El Dorado Farms near Enumclaw, Wash.
Produced from the Secretariat mare Six Crowns and a half-brother to champion Chief's Crown, Tribunal was bought by the Lewises for $1.8 million at the 1998 Keeneland July yearling sale. Tribunal won three of 18 races, ran third in the 2001 Santa Anita (gr. I) and San Bernardino (gr. II) Handicaps, and earned $315,140. His fee will be announced later.
