Turfway Park opens its Fall Meet on Sept. 4 with first post at 7 p.m. The 2002 Turfway Fall Meet is highlighted by The Kentucky Cup Day of Champions on Sept. 14. The track will offer free admission and parking every race day except Kentucky Cup Day when general admission is $3. Live racing continues through Oct. 3 First post is 7 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and 1:10 p.m. on weekends. There will be a special noon post on Kentucky Cup Day. ... Suffolk Downs will conduct 56 days of live racing during its Autumn Meet which begins on Sept. 28. The racing schedule will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday through the week ending Nov. 9, after which Fridays will be dark. The meet will conclude on Dec. 23. First post time for all live racing cards with the exception of Oct. 26, when the first race will be at 10:15 a.m. in conjunction with the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships. ...Vosburgh Farms and Southern States Cooperative have reached a tentative agreement on the sale of a 430+ acre research farm in Providence, Va. for $1.8 million. The facility is located four miles from Colonial Downs.
