Halo's Image Colt Tops Early Part of OBSC Selected Sale

Acting as agent for Texas owner James McIngvale, J. B. McKathan went to $200,000 to acquire a son of Halo's Image during the early part of Monday's Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's selected yearling sale in Ocala, Florida.

"He's a beautifully balanced colt," McKathan said of the yearling consigned by Celebrity Farm. Produced from the stakes-winning Tri Jet mare Proud Clarioness, the colt is a half-brother to graded stakes winners Hesabull and Big E E.

There are 1,322 yearlings catalogued for the four-day sale. Monday's opening session features select 216 yearlings. Also scheduled to be offered are 88 yearlings in the first phase of the Franks Farm reduction. The open portion of the sale begins Tuesday and continues through Thursday.

Sires with offspring in the sale include this year's leading freshman sire Elusive Quality, Carson City, Cherokee Run, Favorite Trick, Forest Wildcat, Gentlemen, Grand Slam, and Holy Bull. Among the others are Hennessy, Siphon, Skip Away, Theatrical (IRE), Unbridled's Song, Silver Charm, Real Quiet, Artax, and Mazel Trick.
