Four Travers Contenders Work at Saratoga

The Nick Zito-trained pair of Quest and Nothing Flat each breezed five furlongs in the identical times of 1:03 2/5 over Saratoga's Oklahoma training track on Monday in preparation for Saturday's $1-million Travers Stakes.

Owned by Arthur Hancock, Quest won two allowance races at Belmont Park before taking on Medaglia d'Oro in the Jim Dandy. The son of Seeking the Gold finished second in the Jim Dandy, but was disqualified and placed eighth for interference against Iron Deputy. After being bothered by Quest, Iron Deputy stumbled and lost jockey Richard Migliore. Nothing Fat also ran in the Jim Dandy, finishing seventh.

Also working over the training track was Michael Tabor's Shah Jehan, who was timed in 1:03 1/5 for five-eighths of a mile. In his previous start, D. Waynbe Lukas-trained Shah Jehan finished fourth after losing a shoe in the gate in an allowance race July 27.

Working Monday over Saratoga's main track in preparation for the "Mid-Summer Derby" was Columbine Stable's Like a Hero, who went five furlongs in 1:01 3/5 for trainer Beau Greeley.
