Festival of Light, Dubai's Horse of the Year in 2001 for Godolphin Racing, will enter stud at Clarence and Dorothy Scharbauer's Valor Farm near Pilot Point, Texas. The 5-year-old son of A.P. Indy will stand for $4,000.A $975,000 Keeneland September yearling, Festival of Light captured the 2001 Jebel Ali Hotel & Resort Godolphin Mile (UAE-III)) in his stakes debut after winning his two previous races by a total of 17 lengths. Jockey David Flores described the stakes "as one of the greatest races I've ever ridden. I didn't even have to use the whip."Bred by Helen Alexander and her mother, Helen Groves, Festival of Light retires with three wins and earnings of $632,291 from nine starts in Dubai and North America. He is a half-brother to grade I winner Arch, and his dam, New York stakes winner Aurora (by Danzig) is a daughter of champion Althea. Festival of Light's third dam is Kentucky Broodmare of the Year Courtly Dee.
