Attendance, Handle Off to Strong Start at Del Mar

After 12 racing days of Del Mar's 43-day season, attendance and handle figures show solid advances over the same period last season.
Total on-track attendance for the 12 days was 204,291, an increase of 6.6 percent. Off-track figures show 155,538, an increase of 1.4 percent, and the total of the two, 359,829, is a rise of 4.3 percent.
Average daily attendance on-track is 17,024, and average attendance off-track is 12,962. The total average daily attendance is 29,986, up 4.3 percent.
Total handle for the period was $142,493,968, with a total average daily handle of $11,874,497, an increase of 11.4 percent.
