The National Thoroughbred Racing Association has set the fields for this weekend's Pool Two of the Breeders' Cup Future Bet. Races open for wagering this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are the John Deere Breeders' Cup Turf, the Breeders' Cup Mile, and the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf, all grade I.
The Future Bet is a special wager that allows fans to select in advance the winners of the Oct. 26 Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championship races at Arlington Park. Wagering begins at 1 p.m. (ET) Aug. 9 and concludes at 7 p.m. (ET) Aug. 11.
In each of the three races, all grass events, available for wagering, the pari-mutuel field has been listed as the morning line favorite by oddsmaker Mike Watchmaker of Daily Racing Form.
Other than listed enteries, the shortest-priced horses in each race is Sakhee
, who is listed at 8-1 in the Breeders' Cup Turf; and Rock of Gibraltar
, who has been set at 6-1 in the Breeders' Cup Mile; and Banks Hill
, installed as an 8-1 proposition in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf.
Banks Hill is the defending Filly & Mare winner, while Sakhee finished a close second to Tiznow in the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I).
