Tic N Tin the Zen Master at Arlington

(Edited from track report)Tic N Tin, winner of the $84,450 White Oak Handicap earlier in the meet, earned his second significant score of the Arlington season when he went gate-to-wire in the $50,000 Zen Handicap Sunday at Arlington Park.
Shane Laviolette rode the 7-year-old Lac Ouimet horse to a 1 1/4-length victory, covering the 6 1/2 furlongs in a swift 1:16.34.
The win was the fifth in nine starts this year and the 23rd in 62 starts overall for Tic N Tin, who earned $30,000. That boosted his career bankroll to $617,795 for owner-trainer Ron L. Brandenburg.
Tic N Tin was never threatened while posting fractions of 22.23 for the opening quarter, 45.25 for a half-mile and a six-furlong split of 1:09.91.
Manitowish rallied late in the lane to get up for second, 1 1/2 lengths clear of Freeway Ticket, who finished third in the eight-horse field.
Sent off as the 2-1 favorite, Tic N Tin paid $6, $4.20 and $3. Manitowish returned $10.20 and $5. Freeway Ticket paid $3.
