Irish-bred Islington drew away to easily win the Group 1 Vodafone Nassau Stakes for fillies contested at 10 furlongs at Goodwood Saturday.
The winning margin for the 3-year-old daughter of Sadler Wells was four lengths over runner-up Sulk, who edged Quarter Moon by a half-length. Islington is owned by the executors of the late Lord Weinstock, trained by Sir Michael Stoute and ridden by Kieren Fallon.
Islington settled into fourth place early, moved on the leaders in the final two furlongs and was pushed to the lead before pulling away comfortably. The winning time was 2:04.69.
