Mandy's Gold made it four in a row when she won The Honorable Miss Handicap (gr. III) wire-to-wire on a sloppy Saratoga track Friday.
The 4-year-old daughter of Gilded Time out of Manduria (by Aloma's Ruler) has now won four races on four separate tracks since May 25 when she won the $75,000 My Juliet Stakes at Philadelphia Park. She next laid claim to the Chicago Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. III) at Arlington Park on June 8, then the $100,000 Sweet & Sassy Stakes at Delaware Park on July 6.
Ridden by Edgar Prado, who rode her earlier in the year at Gulfstream Park, Mandy's Gold broke sharply from the gate and jumped immediately to the front. She led the field of six down the backstretch drawing a brief challenge from grade II winner Nasty Storm and jockey Pat Day.
Mandy's Gold held onto the lead through brisk fractions of :22.0 and :44.8. At the top the stretch, Shine Again and Dat You Miz Blue moved up but never threatened the leader.
Mandy's Gold rolled through six furlongs in 1:09.24. She paid $12.60, $6, and $4.10. She has won four times in eight starts this year and never been out of the money. Her career earnings now total $427,044.
Shine Again was second paying $5.90 and $4.20, and Dat You Miz Blue was third paying $4.4.
The winner was bred in Virginia by Audley Farm. She is owned by Steeplechase Farm and trained by Michael Gorman.
