Champion filly Xtra Heat will skip Friday's featured $100,000 Honorable Miss Stakes (gr. III) at Saratoga in favor of the Aug. 10 Straight Deal Breeders' Cup Handicap at Laurel Park.

Trainer John Salzman Sr. was also up in the air about the decision to run Xtra Heat in the Aug. 25 Ballerina Handicap (gr. I) at the New York oval. A start in the Sept. 7 $150,000 Endine Stakes (gr. III) at Delaware Park is a possibility.

Xtra Heat has won 21 of 28 career starts, including an incredible 20 in stakes company. She has earned $1,903,305. For the year, the daughter of Dixieland Heat has won four of six starts, all in stakes company.

In her last start, Xtra Heat finished a half-length behind Gold Mover in the July 13 Princess Rooney Handicap (gr. II) at Calder Race Course.
