Edward Evans' undefeated Storm Cat filly Raging Fever heads the field of seven 2-year-old fillies entered in the $200,000 Matron Stakes at Belmont Park. The one mile test will be the first start for the Mark Hennig trainee since she won the Adirondack Stakes (gr. II) by 9 1/4 lengths on Aug. 14 at Saratoga. That win came after an 11 1/4-length win the Astoria Stakes, and a six-length triumph in her racing debut.

"She's done everything so easily," Hennig said. "She can rate and has done great since the Adirondack. The stretch out in distance won't bother her."

The field for the Matron will consist of:

1--Major Wager--John Velazquez
2--Raging Fever, Jerry Bailey
3--Weekend Gold, Shane Sellers
4--Miss Kate, Jose Santos
5--Dancinginmydreams, Pat Day
6--Secret Lover, Richard Migliore
7--Ilusoria, Jorge Chavez
All starters will carry 120 pounds
