Dixie Dot Com, unraced since finishing eighth of eight in the Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I) in March, returns to the races Saturday in the six-furlong 200,000 Bay Meadows Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. III). In last year's renewal of the race, Dixie Dot Com finished fourth, behind two rivals he will face again on Saturday. Men's Exclusive finished second, 3/4 lengths behind Big Jag in last year's renewal and just ahead of Lexicon.
Lexicon enters the Bay Meadows sprint after finishing third in a pair of stakes races in Southern California. After winning a Hollywood Park optional claimer in May, he finished third in both the Triple Bend Breeders' Cup Invitational Handicap (gr. II) at Hollywood Park, and the Bing Crosby Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II) at Del Mar. 7-year-old Men's Exclusive finished third in an optional claiming race at Del Mar in his only start of the year.
Stronach Stable's Falkenburg races on the West Coast for the first time Saturday. He finished third in the Frank J. DeFrancis Memorial Dash (gr. I) in July, before finishing fourth in the A.G. Vanderbilt Handicap (gr. II) at Saratoga. Falkenburg has won five of nine career races but has picked up a minor placing in only the De Francis Dash, which had a four-horse field.
