Japan's leading sire Sunday Silence.
Japanese stallion Sunday Silence, who temporarily was relieved of stallion duty in May because of an infection in his right front leg, underwent an operation July 18 to remove pus in the leg. The pus was removed, but officials at the Yoshida family's Shadai Stallion Station remain highly concerned about his health.
Sunday Silence covered more than 130 mares before he was taken out of stallion duty in May. The 16-year-old son of Halo out of the Understanding mare Wishing Well has ranked as Japan's leading sire by year-end progeny earnings since 1995.
