Outofthebox to Stand at Sez Who in Florida

Grade I winner Outofthebox, Florida's champion 3-year-old male of 2001, will enter stud at Dick Simon's Sez Who Thoroughbreds near Ocala, Fla. Retired earlier this year, Outofthebox will stand on behalf of a syndicate that includes Simon as well as Becky Thomas and Lewis and Brenda Lakin's Lakland, Briggs and Cromartie Bloodstock, and Michael O'Farrell of Ocala Stud Farm. The latter nursery is home to Outofthebox's sire, Montbrook and broodmare sire, Notebook. His fee is $7,500.

Outofthebox scored his big win in the Super Derby (gr. I) and placed in five stakes, four of which were graded., including the Florida Derby (gr. I). He captured five of 16 races and earned $734,008 for owners Bertram and Elaine Klein and their son, Richard. His dam, Cricket Box, is a half-sister to grade I winner Mighty Appealing.
