Hip 99, War Front -- Azzedine filly
A War Front   filly sold to Robert S. Evans for $1 million, the first seven-figure price on opening day of the Keeneland September yearling sale Sept. 14 in Lexington.

Offered as Hip 99 by Lane's End's, agent, the dark bay or brown filly is the second foal out of the unraced Mr. Greeley mare Azzedine, a daughter of multiple graded stakes winner Atelier (Deputy Minster) and a half sister to stakes-placed Alaazo. This is the same family as champion Althea.

"I love War Front, and I love the female family," Evans said. "I was afraid she'd go for that."

The filly, a Feb. 28 foal, was bred in Kentucky by Breffni Farm.
