OBS Yearling Sale To Include Reduction Of Franks' Stock

Multiple Eclipse Award winner John Franks of Franks Farm will conduct a major reduction of stock beginning with the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's August yearling sale. Eighty-eight Franks yearlings will be offered on Aug. 19 following the auction's select session. The reduction will continue during the OBS fall mixed sale in October and during the company's sales of 2-year-olds in training next year.

Among the yearlings in the Franks consignment are half brothers to grade I winner Gold N Delicious, millionaire graded winner Littlebitlively, graded winner Zeeruler, and Spectacular Bid Stakes (gr. III) victor Maybry's Boy. Eleven of the youngsters in the reduction are from the first crop of Franks Farm stallion Precocity, a grade I winner. Lost Soldier, Florida's leading freshman sire in 2001, is represented with seven yearlings and Kissin Kris, sire of millionaire Kiss a Native, is the sire of 10 in the sale

In all, 1,322 horses have been catalogued for the OBS August sale. There are 216 select yearlongs. The sale will run through Aug. 22, with sessions beginning each day at 11 a.m. (EDT).
