23 Listed as Out For Keeneland Sale

Keeneland was beginning to spring to life Thursday as horses started arriving for the sale company's annual July auction, the industry's first true measure each year of the yearling market.

Though a small sample of the total number of yearlings offered internationally each year, Keeneland's select summer sale attracts all the top buyers from around the globe.

There are already 23 outs listed by Keeneland, horses withdrawn from the July 15-16 auction. Ten are out from the first session, 13 from the second. Both evening sessions, with 100 catalogued each night, begin at 7:30.

Among the outs is a Kingmambo colt out of Secrettame consigned by Mare Haven Farm. Secrettame is the dam of major winner and sire Gone West. Also withdrawn is a half-brother, by Dixieland Band, to Kentucky Derby winner Silver Charm who was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency.

Another scratch, from the Lane's End consignment, is a Kingmambo filly who is the first foal produced from grade I winner Jersey Girl.

The hip numbers of the outs are: 13, 26, 30, 49, 54, 70, 77, 81, 83, 86, 102, 103, 109, 114, 122, 129, 140, 141, 146, 148, 172, 182 and 188.
