Sakhee, shown last fall before the Breeders' Cup, turned in a solid workout Tuesday in England.
Godolphin Racing's Sakhee, runner-up in last year's Breeders' Cup Classic, turned in a strong workout Tuesday at England's Sandown Park Racecourse in preparation for the July 27 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot.
Ridden by Frankie Dettori, Sakhee finished 10 lengths in front of Atlantis Prince in the 10-furlong work over a very soft turf course, according to the Godolphin Web site. There was no time listed for the workout, in which Sakhee joined three others.
According to the workout report, Sakhee was reserved off the pace as Sydenham led Atlantis Prince and Divine Task. Sakhee hit the front two furlongs out and galloped to the wire for the final margin.
"Sakhee went well and the whole team is very pleased," the Web reported quoted Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford. "He finished 10 lengths clear following some excellent work up the hill and will improve for that. He like the ground and the gallop was perfect for him."
