Group I winner Act One, who recently was retired from racing after suffering a hairline fracture of a cannon bone, will enter stud at Shadwell's Nunnery Stud in England in 2003. Campaigned as a homebred for the late Gerald Leigh, Act One (In the Wings--Summer Sonnet, by Baillamont) won four group events, including the 2001 Criterium International (Fr-I) and this year's Prix Lupin (Fr-I). He ran second in the June 2 Prix du Jockey-Club (Fr-I) in his last start and was retired with $507,644 in earnings. Act One will not undergo shuttle duty this year.
