The eternal campaigner, Cetewayo, is scheduled to be at Arlington Park Saturday to contest the Stars and Stripes Breeders' Cup Turf (gr. IIIT). The 8-year-old gelding earned highweight status when he was assigned 118 pounds for the 12-furlong race. He last won the June 8 Greenwood Cup Handicap at Philadelphia Park. Cetewayo is a homebred racing for Dr. John Chandler and trained by Michael Dickinson.
Diamond C Stable's Pisces, assigned a pound less than Cetewayo in the Stars and Stripes weights, is also expected to be a participant in Saturday's race. Pisces, a Ken McPeek trainee, finished in a dead heat for second in the grade III Louisville Handicap June 1 at Churchill Downs but was subsequently adjudged the co-winner.
Finishing in front of Pisces under the wire in that last outing at the Twin Spires oval was W. Claiborne and W. C. Jacobs Two Point Two Mill, who was subsequently disqualified and placed eighth. Two Point Two Mill is expected to try and make amends for that defeat in Saturday's Stars and Stripes.
Others expected for Saturday's holiday weekend highlight include Alan Drey's Bahroba, 112; Centaur Farms' Classic Par, 115; Starlex Farm's Private Son, 111; Dolphus Morrison's Red Mountain, 113; Gary A. Tanaka's Riddlestown, 114; and Larry F. Telle's Red Antics, 110. Red Antics is trained by Tom Amoss, who saddled the winner of two out of the last three Stars and Stripes renewals, and three out of the last six.
