Team Valor and Heiligbrodt Racing Stable's grade I winner Cashier's Dream, who underwent surgery June 25 for a twisted intestine, was euthanized July 1 after additional surgery revealed adhesions near the site where the bowel had been joined together. During her initial surgery, the 3-year-old filly had eight to 10 feet of intestine removed at Hagyard-Davidson-McGee Associates equine clinic.

Cashier's Dream (Service Stripe--Jerry's Sister, by Monetary Gift) was bought privately from her breeders, James and Laura Jackson, after her second race last year. Her major wins as a 2-year-old came in the Spinaway Stakes (gr. I) at Saratoga and the Churchill Downs Debutante Stakes (gr. III), the latter in track-record time of 1:02.52 for 5 1/2 furlongs. In her sole start this year, she won the La Troienne Stakes (gr. III) at Churchill Downs during Derby week. During her career, she won five of seven races and earned $423,042.
