Buyers will be able to bid over the Internet for horses offered during the Del Mar yearling sale, which is scheduled for Aug. 11 and 12 in Southern California. The auction is conducted by the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association (CTBA), which has reached an agreement with Lexington-based Equine Spectrum to add the new service. Equine Spectrum has a contract with Allegiance Telecom to provide T1 connectivity (high-speed Internet access) for the auction.

The CTBA has catalogued 159 yearlings for the sale. Sessions begin each evening at 7 p.m. (PDT). Internet bidders will make offers through the Equine Spectrum Web site (www.equinespectrum.com).
