Wide Range Tops Sale In Ireland

Wide Range, a 4-year-old daughter of Spectrum, brought the top price of 105,000 euros ($104,171) at the Goffs Ireland inaugural international select sale of horses in training on Saturday. Consigned by Forenaghts Stud, she was purchased by Newmarket International. Wide Range raced three times last year in France, finishing second once.
In all, 27 horses were sold for a gross of 530,500 euros ($526,309) and an average of 19,648 euros ($19,493). Thirteen (32.5%) of the 40 horses offered failed to find new homes.
