The Kentucky Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association is expected to find out Wednesday the results of its election for president and the board of directors. The company that tabulated the results is to turn in its report to the Kentucky HBPA Wednesday.
This year, there was a contested race for president between trainer Rick Hiles, who currently heads the organization, and Dr. Alex Harthill, the well-known veterinarian. In addition, 10 seats (five owners and five trainers) were up for grabs on the board of directors.
The membership had 30 days to vote.
