Some familiar names popped up repeatedly Saturday as Illinois celebrated its day of racing for state-bred horses, the Prairie State Festival at Arlington Park. Trainer Chris Block, who trains for his family's Team Block among other clients, won the first race with Storm to Glory, then won the richest race on the card with Mystery Giver. Jockey Rene Douglas, who was aboard both of Block's winners, had a total of four wins on the 10-race card. Jockey Randall Meier followed him with three wins for the day.

Mystery Giver's win was the richest of the day--the homebred topped the $90,450 Cardinal Handicap by a half-length--but another Block homebred had the biggest margin at Arlington. Storm to Glory won the first race by 17 1/2 lengths. The race was the first start for the filly, who is a granddaughter of one of the Blocks' first stakes winners, Cerada Ridge.

Block was hoping to win one other race that day, the Lincoln Heritage Handicap, which his charge Ioya Two had won the two previous years. The 7-year-old ran fourth as the 2-5 favorite. Ellie's Rose won the race by 2 3/4 lengths over M and M Machine.

Here's a brief rundown of the day's restricted stakes races which began with race five:
