The June 15 Oceanport Handicap at Monmouth Park has lost its grade for this year. The Graded Stakes Committee routinely reviews the grades of races taken off the turf.
The Oceanport was scratched down to a field of only three after seven horses scratched when rains forced the race to be moved from the grass course.
This year only, the Oceanport will lose its grade III status and be listed as without a grade.
The race was won by Tempest Fugit (by Unaccounted For), with Runspastum second and One Eyed Joker third. The Oceanport was Tempest Fugit's first stakes win.
