Churchill Downs Simulcasting Network Announces New Pick 4

Churchill Downs Inc., through its simulcasting network, has created a pick 4 linking four races at four of the tracks under the Churchill ownership umbrella. The first of these pick 4's will be available this Saturday, June 22, with similar bets available on June 29, July 6, and July 20.

The Churchill Downs Simulcasting Network (CDSN) Pick 4 is a minimum $1 wager and offers a takeout rate of 19 percent, regardless of the host site. A complete list of the scheduled Pick 4 wagers, including the participating racetracks, race numbers and approximate post times, is below.

This is the third year that CDSN has offered some unique wagers which link the outcomes of races at CDSN tracks conducting Thoroughbred meets. Last year, CDSN "Pick 3" and "Pick 4" wagers combined races at Churchill Downs, Calder Race Course and Hollywood Park. The 2002 summer racing season will feature CDSN specialty wagers that also incorporate races at Arlington Park and Ellis Park.

"We are pleased to provide our customers with new wagering opportunities that we can offer as the result of coordinated race schedules - an important component of the CDSN brand of horse racing," said Karl F. Schmitt Jr., chief operating officer of CDSN.

"We enjoyed success last year with the CDSN Pick 3, Turf Pick 3 and Coast-to-Coast Pick 4 wagers, in which patrons were challenged to select the winners of races at multiple CDSN tracks and could gauge their success in a matter of minutes. The wagers have traditionally offered lucrative payoffs, which we believe adds to their overall appeal."

The Pick 4 wager will be on the following days linking the races listed below:
