Volvoreta, next-to-last in the 11-horse field through the early going, rallied through the stretch to a 1 1/2-length win in the Prix Vermeille Normandy Barriere (Fr-I) Sunday at Longchamp. Reve D'Oscar finished second, a neck in front of Egyptband. The win is Volvoreta's first in a group I and avenged her lone loss, a second-place finish to Egyptband in the Prix de Diane Hermes-French Oaks (Fr-I). Michael Kinane was in the irons as the 3-year-old filly completed the 1 1/2 miles in 2:26.3 while racing over good turf. Vodafone Epsom Oaks (Eng-I) winner Love Divine was fourth.

The win is the fourth in five starts for Volvoreta (Suave Dancer--Robertiya, by Don Roberto), who was bred in Great Britain by Dr. Carlos Garcia Pardo. Prior to her second-place finish in the French Oaks, the Carlos Lerner trainee won the Prix Penelope (Fr-III). As a juvenile she won the Prix des Reservoirs (Fr-III).
