The Aga Khan's dual Derby winner Sinndar ran away to an eight-length win over fellow 3-year-olds in Sunday's Prix Niel-Casino d'Enghien-les-Bains Barriere (Fr-II) at Longchamp, France. The win is the fourth consecutive win for the colt and his sixth career win from seven starts. Previous to the Prix Niel, he won the Budweiser Irish Derby (Ire-I) by nine lengths, after taking the Vodafone Epsom Derby (Eng-I) by a length over Sakhee.
The John Oxx trainee completed the 1 1/2 miles in 2:26 2/5 while racing over good turf. Crimson Quest came home second, 3/4 lengths ahead of Sobieski. Kathmandu, Lycitus, and Raypour completed the order of finish.
"It's going to take a nice one to catch him now," winning jockey Johnny Murtagh told Sporting Life. "He gave me an unbelievable feeling of power."
Sinndar (Grand Lodge--Sinntara, by Lashkari) is expected to make his next start in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe Lucien Barriere (Fr-I), where he likely face defending champion Montjeu.
